- Bramhall High School table tennis team squad comprising of Natalie Dodd (England No 26), Olivia Brookes, Hannah Spencer and Jenny Szakal have won their way through to the National Schools Under 13 Finals which will be held at Hinckley Leisure Centre in Leicester on Saturday 1st March 2008. All the team members first took up the game while they were at Nevill Road Primary School in Bramhall under the watchful eye of experienced ETTA Coach Phil Barratt. 'The headmaster Mr Watson gives great support to the children for table tennis both during school and in the after school clubs' says Phil. Their campaign started at the Armoury Table Tennis Centre in Stockport where all the girls play for the Raven Table Tennis Club in the Stockport League, then moved on to St. Bedes School in Blackburn where the next two rounds were held culminating in a win for Bramhall High over Graham School, from Scarborough by 6 sets to 2. The girls next go forward as Regional winners to play in the national Finals. ETTA Coach David Hulme has had to step in and deputise for Phil who has recently undergone knee surgery, however David is well qualified to lead the training and practise sessions. In the past David has represented Stockport Town at junior and senior levels many times and is a former Stockport Junior Champion. David says 'Come the final all the girls will be well prepared and with good team spirit are capable of winning medals for Stockport'.
